Waiting on Wednesday #2

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme created to discuss the upcoming releases of books we're dying to call our own; hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

The Blood of Olympus
by Rick Riordan

Expected Publication: October 7, 2014
Goodreads  | Book Depository | BAM!

Though the Greek and Roman crewmembers of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen—all of them—and they're stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood—the blood of Olympus—in order to wake.

The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. Though it is tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it "might" be able to stop a war between the two camps.

The Athena Parthenos will go west; the Argo II will go east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea's army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over.

I have been a diehard fan of Percy Jackson ever since I picked the first book up. I was late to the bandwagon, but that doesn't mean I love the series any less. I've been waiting for this last book for ages. As soon as I can get it, this beautiful baby shall be mine. I'm so excited but also terribly sad it's almost over!! It's going to be EPIC.

  1. Agreed! I can't wait either! It's such an amazing series, full of so much action and such great characters! Can you just imagine what that final battle is going to look like? lol,
    Here's My WoW.

    1. I'm almost afraid for it!! But how can it be anything other than totally epic? I still need to read Mark of Athena and House of Hades, but now that Blood of Olympus is coming out soon, I think it's about that time to get them off my shelves.

  2. It's so sad that I have yet to read a book from Rick Riordan...he has so many books out, each with an AWESOME looking cover, but I just haven't gotten into it. Glad to see that you're really enjoying this series! (:

    1. Oh the series is brilliant. I've enjoyed every book I've read. And I agree with you on the covers. They are always amazing. It's too bad you haven't gotten into them. You'd probably enjoy the story yourself. :D

Don't be shy, really, I'd love to hear from you.
